Mission Peace members Steve Warren; Dr. Bruce Lehnert; Jennifer Lehnert, RN; Dr. Jeff Spanko; Tina Ratto, RN; and volunteer Sean Shaughnessy spent the better part of Saturday organizing, inventorying, and packing medicine and supplies for this year’s mission.
We packed about 25 containers with medicine, cast material, gauze, surgical instruments, sutures, surgical gowns, gauze, walking casts, crutches, power equipment, staples, screws, and plates.
Dr. Spanko was able to acquire two power equipment sets to donate to Can Tho General Hospital. These represent the third and fourth sets donated in the last four years. Until Mission Peace’s first trip in 2000, Can Tho General Hospital did not have any power equipment.
