Team Member Bio: Lexington Lehnert

Lex Lehnert, International Extremity Project medical mission, Colby College
Lexington Lehnert is a standout collegiate pole vaulter and computer science major at Colby College in Maine, but his impact extends far beyond athletics and academics. A dedicated member of the International Extremity Project (IEP) team since 2012, Lex has been an integral part of numerous medical missions, bringing energy, skill, and compassion to every effort.

Lex has taken on increasingly critical roles since his early days of assisting with fundraising and organizing mission supplies. He has managed operating room inventory, documented procedures through photography, scribed for doctors during screenings, and provided hands-on support to nurses and surgeons in the operating room.

Beyond logistics and technical support, Lex has a rare gift: His natural ability to calm anxious children before surgery has earned him the nickname "The Child Whisperer." His warmth and reassurance comfort young patients in their most vulnerable moments.

Though he is not pursuing a career in medicine, Lex remains a steadfast and invaluable member of the IEP team. His dedication and hard work help ensure that each mission runs seamlessly, making a lasting impact on both the medical team and the patients they serve.
