The International Extremity Project was featured in the national news in Angola with a full press conference and article from the Angola News Agency. National news and radio outlets interviewed our medical director Dr. Bruce Lehnert.
The First Lady of Angola and Chevron have sponsored our mission, which has led to widespread word of mouth about our time here. Having media attention has led to multiple additional cases. There is a huge need for our expertise here in Angola, and we are already planning future missions here to treat more patients.
Today, after leaving the pediatric unit where our patients stay, we met a six-year-old girl and her mother, who had traveled from a province after seeing news about our medical mission. The girl has bilateral club feet and will have surgery this Wednesday for a full correction.
