Team Member Bio: Jannani Krishnan

Jannani Krishnan is slated join the International Extremity Project for a medical mission to Bhutan in 2025.

Jannani Krishnan is a current podiatry resident at VA Palo Alto Health Care System. She completed her medical education at Samuel Merritt University's College of Podiatric Medicine.

She is excited to embark on her first medical mission to Bhutan with the International Extremity Project, where she aims to hone her surgical skills and knowledge while learning from the unique challenges faced by communities in need. Her goal is to make a meaningful impact by helping to enhance foot and ankle care in underserved populations.

In addition to her residency, Jannani serves as a clinical manager for Special Olympics Fit Feet, where she screens Special Olympics athletes with intellectual/development disabilities, specifically focusing on foot and ankle health, biomechanics, and footwear fit.

Jannani is particularly passionate about research in podiatry and is eager to explore innovative solutions that can improve patient outcomes. She believes that continuous learning and collaboration are key to addressing the complexities in podiatric medicine in diverse settings.

She looks forward to this valuable opportunity in Bhutan and to connecting with fellow professionals and volunteers who share a commitment to global health and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
