Team Member Bio: Rudy Buntic, MD

Dr. Rudy Buntic is a world-renowned plastic, hand, and microsurgeon with a distinguished career dedicated to reconstructive excellence. A native of Canada, he specializes in advanced microsurgical techniques, using patients' own tissues to restore function and form following traumatic injuries and cancer-related defects. His expertise in cutting-edge reconstructive microsurgery has transformed countless lives.

As head of the Division of Microsurgery at California Pacific Medical Center, Dr. Buntic leads innovation in complex surgical procedures. He also serves as the Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship Director at The Buncke Clinic, one of the most prestigious institutions in the field. His extensive training includes a general and plastic surgery residency at Stanford University, followed by a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at Davies Medical Center in San Francisco under the legendary Harry and Gregory Buncke.

Board-certified in Plastic Surgery and Surgery of the Hand by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Buntic is a respected educator and mentor. He is an Associate Professor Affiliated in Plastic Surgery at Stanford University and a Clinical Faculty member at the University of California. A leader in his field, he is an active member of elite surgical societies, including the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery.

A prolific contributor to medical literature, Dr. Buntic has authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters, in addition to presenting at national conferences on groundbreaking advancements in plastic, hand, and microsurgery. His dedication to pushing the boundaries of surgical innovation continues to shape the future of reconstructive medicine.
